Becoming Word for One Another

Lectors bring the Word of God to the assembly of the faithful. In their ministry, lectors do far more than simply read Scripture during liturgy—lectors bring God’s living presence to the men and women of today. This booklet looks at the ways in which lectors exercise their ministry and considers the spirituality that lectors must cultivate to proclaim the Word of God effectively. A lector’s spirituality must include an understanding of Scripture as God’s Living Word made present to humankind throughout history, but most fully present in the person of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh.
